What is HSA? and how does it work? (USA)Updated 4 days ago

HSA and FSA are US government schemes that let people set aside money before it's taxed, then spend it on qualifying health and medical expenses. At checkout the customer selects HSA/FSA as their payment method

They complete a short, private health survey — about a minute long

The survey generates their letter of medical necessity (LMN), which is what makes the purchase eligible

They then pay with their HSA/FSA debit card exactly like any other card -

Because the money was never taxed, customers effectively get a discount equal to their tax rate: on a $1,499 purchase, that's typically $300–$500 back in purchasing power.
